Background & Experience

Rick co-founded Tarr & Scholl, CPAs with Joseph A. Tarr in 1978.  In 1986, Tarr & Scholl merged with Stoy, Malone & Company. Accordingly, Rick is personally familiar with the unique challenges faced by entrepreneurs and new businesses.  

He has many years of experience dealing with closely-held businesses, individuals, estates and trusts, as well as federal and state tax authorities.   Areas of expertise include income and estate tax planning and compliance and business succession planning.  His business clients include personal service companies such as attorneys, physicians and dentists, healthcare product suppliers, IT consultants, waste management services, horse racing and breeding farms.
